Kinesiology

Kinesiologists are an essential part of our Patient Care Team. Kinesiologists assist our Physiotherapists and Doctors of Chiropractic in implementing treatment plans by supervising and demonstrating exercises and modalities as well as educating patients about home programs.

Kinesiology is the study of human movement, and its goal is to discover strategies for human health and performance. The work of Kinesiologists benefits all those who move, including high-performance athletes, people suffering from chronic injury or disease, and those wanting to improve their overall physical health.

Kinesiology has a significant impact on a wide range of health and well-being issues, such as:

  • Enhance Learning and Learning Difficulties
  • Boost Sports Performance
  • Eliminate Emotional, Physical and Mental Stress
  • Help Overcome Past Trauma
  • Identify Nutritional Deficiency or Excess
  • Help Overcome Fears and Phobias
  • Aid the Healing of Muscle Injuries
  • Migraines
  • Neck/Back Pain and Sciatica
  • Post-surgery Pain
  • Neurological Function Disorders
  • Movement Disorders

Kinesiology is a multidisciplinary science encompassing anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, psychomotor behaviour, and social and cultural factors. It is this multidisciplinary approach to movement and human performance that makes Kinesiology an important contributor to health, wellness and rehabilitation.
